Overstimulated

Felix threw just a great party (for his birthday, no less), the lighting was superb, we kept lines to a minimum, everywhere you went there were smiles on faces. Security really had only one minor incident in which no one was injured but the guy that got thrown out’s feelings. The sound was thundering, Eye-Hear Productions, Uncensored US and Mixbeat all did great things with their systems. I was trying to figure out how they were running all these systems, there were miles of cables everywhere, it was impressive, and probably very complicated, but they ran sound in five… yes five rooms, none of them small systems at all. Lots of hardcore, lots of drum and bass, MC Hyde tore it up pretty good around 3am, that was very cool. I caught a bit of pretty much all the sets as I was doing security. If you were there, I probably checked your ID, that’s what I did much of the night. One of the highlights of the evening for me was standing in the main room amidst a swirl of glowing candy kids, I look over, and there’s ESP Woody McBride, standing there head and shoulders above the ravers, smiling and looking on (he’s quite tall). Embarrassingly enough, I didn’t immediately recognize him and asked for his ID at the door (force of habit after doing it a thousand times), but I talked to him during the party and after, he said he liked it, and right there is an expert opinion of a party, so it must have been good.
